Mucosal Leishmaniasis: a Rare Infection from Western Nepal

Leishmaniasis is a neglected tropical disease infecting world’s poorest population in over 90 countries throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Central South Africa. An underestimated 700,000 to one million new cases occur annually. refers spectrum of diseases caused by parasite, Leishmania, transmitted bite infected sandflies. Of three major syndromes (cutaneous, mucosal visceral) leishmaniasis least common. Despite being an endemic country for cutaneous visceral forms, there are rare reports form published literature from Nepal till date. Here we present case presented masquerading malignancy Dailekh District immediate proximal Surkhet, districts western Nepal.
